Thank you for your patience as we worked through the Restore Illinois Plan and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) guidance document to create a proposed plan for District 41. This has been a monumental task for school districts in Illinois and nationally.

Over the past few months, we have sent communications to the community on May 22, June 11, June 24 and July 6 directly related to the plans for reopening of schools. District 41 is proposing a blended model — half day in-person and half day remote.
A live stream information session (with the superintendent, board members, and cabinet team) to share the proposed blended plan was also presented to the community on July 8. A second live stream specifically about Hadley Junior High aired on Tuesday, July 14. WATCH IT HERE.
In addition, a questionnaire was sent to all parents in order for the district to learn more about how parents feel about sending their children back to school. This questionnaire confirmed that the blended model was the plan the district would present to the Board of Education for approval. Two more questionnaires went out, one to elementary families and also one to junior high parents about if they want to cluster their children into the same am or pm session and if they need childcare for the second half of the day. The GE park district and the YMCA are creating a special program for our families who will need it due to this new model. We are so thankful for their partnership.
