Who will oversee the kindergarten center?
An additional administrator will be hired to oversee the kindergarten center separate from Churchill School administration.

    When does kindergarten registration start?
Kindergarten registration will begin in early January.

How many classrooms will be in the kindergarten center?
The kindergarten center is being built with 12 classrooms as well as flex space to accommodate “specials” classes, presentations, and additional classroom work.

Will kindergarteners have a separate playground from the rest of Churchill School?
Yes, there will be a kindergarten-only playground built specifically for children ages 2-5 years old as part of the kindergarten center. The Churchill School playground will be age-appropriate for 5-12-year-olds.

Was a traffic study done as part of the planning prior to building the kindergarten center?
Yes. A formal study was required as part of the permitting process with the Village of Glen Ellyn and the DuPage Department of Transportation (DuDot). The projected volume of traffic was submitted to DuDot who in turn informs the District of required, and permitted, road modifications. Importantly, a stop light at the planned entrance/exit on Bloomingdale is not allowable under DuDot regulations. A southbound left turn lane is allowed and will be created.
