    Substitute Teacher, Substitute Aide, Substitute Secretary and Homebound Tutors

    Interested applicants for substitute positions should apply through Glen Ellyn School District 41 current vacancies link. Once you have logged into your application account, please select the the type of substitute position you wish to apply for within our employment desired section.

    Substitute Handbook
    This handbook provides substitutes with an overview of the general procedures, guidelines and pay rates for Glen Ellyn School District 41. A new Substitute Handbook is coming soon.

    Substitute Requirements
    Substitute Teachers: Must hold a valid Illinois professional educator license (PEL) or a valid Illinois substitute license.

    Substitute Aides: Must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or a valid Illinois Substitute License or a valid Illinois Paraprofessional Educator License.

    Additional Requirements: Prior to starting employment as a substitute in District 41, all substitutes must submit to a state and federal background check, physical and other additional employment paperwork. Once the paperwork is complete, new subs must attend training before starting work in the schools.
