The Communications Department serves as the main connection between the school district and the community. The goal is to build relationships with stakeholders through communication and community engagement opportunities. The Chief Communications Officer manages district specific external communication, community engagement, crisis communication, and media relations.
Erika Krehbiel has served as the Chief Communications Officer for District 41 since 2014. She represents District 41 in the community as a Board member and former President of the Rotary Club of Glen Ellyn, community liaison to the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce, and liaison to the D41 Kids Foundation, to name a few. She is also on the Board of the Illinois National School Public Relations Association (INSPRA). Prior to joining District 41, she served as Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communication and Chief Communications Officer at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from Millikin University and a master’s degree in communication from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. She is also a proud graduate of Glenbard West High School.
District 41 is celebrating people and telling the human side of the district’s story through the video story series called “#WeAreD41.” Each video will feature a different individual in the school district.
