We are committed and strategic educators, we have an unwavering belief in people as learners, thinkers, leaders and problem-solvers, and express this belief through our Vision to: Ignite passion, Inspire excellence and Imagine possibilities.

Learning begins with TLA (the Teaching, Learning and Accountability Department) which champions the D41 Vision for its students. The TLA team focuses its resources on equipping every student with the skills and the knowledge necessary to build a solid foundation for a successful future in a dynamic 21st Century.

The office of Teaching, Learning and Accountability stewards the curriculum, instruction and assessment work of the district and operates in collaboration with The Department of Student Services and The Language Programs Department.

The Language Programs Department strives to improve student achievement and provides support regarding the education of students with disabilities, those who qualify under Section 504 and the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA).

The Department of ESL and Bilingual Services strives to prepare students for an expanding global environment by accelerating academic excellence through the teaching of a second language.

    • The English as a Second Language program assists non-native English speakers in acquiring the language proficiency and skills necessary to be successful academically in the areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking while also fostering individual students’ languages and cultures.
    • The Dual Language and Foreign Language at the Elementary Schools (FLES) programs give students the opportunity to learn a second language (Spanish) during the optimal years of language acquisition. The programs foster learning environments that develop competence in learners to become bilingual, biliterate and bicultural.
