• Residency

New Students: All new students must prove residency, As initial proof of residency, the person with whom the student lives in the District and who claims custody of the student must complete a Residency Affidavit with supporting current residency documents outlined below at the school your child is enrolling in. Please contact the District registrar if you are having trouble collecting the appropriate documents or have a unique residency situation.

Current Students: The District has contracted with a third party vendor to electronically check student residency annually for all current students. Proof of residency is also required whenever a change of address occurs. Families whose residency is verified by the vendor do not need to submit paperwork to certify that they live within District 41 boundaries. When residency cannot be electronically verified by the vendor, the family will be contacted and further proof of residency will be required. The information will be needed before the family can register their student for the upcoming school year.

If you have questions about the residency verification requirements, documents, process or procedures, please contact the registrar in the District 41 Central Services Office.

    Please note:
Illinois law has made it a crime to provide false information in order to enroll a student in a school district when it is known that the student is not a resident of the district. We require all students to verify residency (the address at which they reside) before they may register.

If the student’s parent/guardian is not a District 41 resident, the District 41 resident with whom the student is living must submit proof of residency and complete and present an affidavit demonstrating legal custody of the student. The student’s parent/guardian must also complete an affidavit. If a parent/guardian or the District 41 resident has an issue providing any of the requested documentation, they should work with a building administrator to determine what information needs to be submitted. The district has sole discretion to request additional documentation on a case-by-case basis.
