Hadley Wrestling virtual workouts will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30- 5:00pm on the Hadley Wrestling link in google classroom. It is open to all 5th graders in the school district, as well as all students at Hadley. It will consist of aerobic activity, calisthenics, wrestling movements, shadow wrestling, rules of wrestling, philosophy, and short video instruction. You are encouraged to find a padded or carpeted area for the workouts, although a tiled floor is acceptable if you wear knee pads. We encourage you to wear shorts or sweatpants, a t-shirt, and sox (and shoes if you are on tiled floors). All students who plan to participate in interscholastic sports for the 2020-2021 school year will need to have an up-to-date physical on file in the nurse's office in order to be able to participate in practice. Physicals are valid for ONE YEAR from their completion date. Please contact the nurse's office with any questions.
Thank you for your interest in the Hadley Jr. High interscholastic athletic program. The Wildcats are part of the 8-school Illinois Prairie Athletic Conference which includes Edison, Hubble, Franklin, Leman, Monroe, Jay Stream and Stratford Middle Schools. Conference competition takes place in Basketball (boys and girls), Cross Country (boys and girls), Track (boys and girls), Volleyball (boys and girls) and Wrestling. Non-conference competiton takes place in Softball (girls only) and Soccer (boys and girls).NOTE: There is a $40 one-time athletic fee required to participate on a Hadley athletic team.
Interscholastic sports are generally open to 7th and 8th graders, but Softball, Soccer, Cross Country and Wrestling are open to all grade levels. All sports conduct scheduled try outs except Cross Country, Wrestling and Track, which are "no cut" sports. There is also a Cheerleading squad chosen to cheer at boys home Basketball games.
Review the sport listing in paragraph one for coach names and location of home games. Directions to the schools are provided for your convenience. Parents are always welcome to attend games to cheer our teams on! GO WILDCATS!
