As we shift from our Full Remote Model to our Blended AM/PM Model, I want to take this opportunity to reach out to our families and ask for a unified commitment to the success of in-person learning. If we are to be successful at opening schools and keeping them open, it will take all of us working together. It is important to note how interconnected all of our decisions and actions are during this pandemic. Everyone’s behaviors and choices outside of school impact the community transmission rate and ultimately impact our ability to remain in our blended model.
It is crucial that all of us faithfully adhere to the daily self-certification process. Failure to do so compromises the health and safety of others. In addition, it also compromises the arrival process and the speed at which all students can be in their classrooms and ready to learn. The required process is described in this document. Please review it and make certain that you know what is involved. The best suggestion that I can give is to set an alarm on your phone each morning. We will be using a Three Strike policy related to daily self-certification. The building principals will contact you whenever the self-certification has not been done. Upon 3 missed self-certifications, the principal will contact you to notify you of the date that your child/children will be moved into the full remote model. We hope that we do not need to make this decision on behalf of any student.
It is my sincere hope that we can focus on moving forward and prioritizing the work that needs to happen over the coming weeks. Our ability to return to in-person instruction and maintain in-person instruction will take a commitment on everyone's part. We remind everyone that there are factors that impact our ability to open our schools for in-person learning and most importantly to stay open. The safety of everyone remains our priority and our obligation.
