How will the Project raise money?
Students will host "A Long Walk to Water Experience" Charity Walk at Lincoln on May 10 starting at 6:30 p.m. to support building a well for an African village. The walk will represent how far children in Africa must walk to obtain clean water. In school activities and projects at Lincoln like bracelet sales and a read-a-thon are also taking place to raise awareness and to raise money. We need to raise about $10,000. All profit is donated!
A fresh water well can cost $10,000 to $40,000
When and Where is the fundraiser?
May 10, 2019 starting at 6:30 pm. The fundraiser takes place at Abraham Lincoln School, 380 Greenfield Ave, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. During the fundraiser we will fill up and carry water jugs through the Lincoln neighborhood. We will depart from the “Lincoln Watering Hole” to begin our long walk home. Along the way you will learn about the challenges women and children in Africa face every day.
