New Abraham Lincoln Principal

Glen Ellyn School District 41 is pleased to announce that the Board of Education approved the appointment of Mrs. Brittany Smith as the next Abraham Lincoln Elementary School Principal at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, February 10, 2025. The appointment was effective July 1, 2025.

Mrs. Smith currently serves as Assistant Principal at Wegner Elementary School, West Chicago District 33. Prior to serving as an Assistant Principal, her career included teaching kindergarten and first grade as well as teaching ELL for grades 3-5.

“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to join the Abraham Lincoln School community as the next building principal at the start of the 25-26 school year,” said Mrs. Smith. “During the interview process, I met very positive and dedicated parents and already felt so welcomed by the Lincoln staff! I feel very lucky to be joining a community that works hard to foster a high level of learning and collaboration because we know “It takes a village!” I am looking forward to an exciting year of building relationships and continuing the honorable legacy of the Lincoln Leopards."

Mrs. Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in educational administration both from Northern Illinois University. She has also earned an Educational Administration Endorsement, 6th-8th Grade English Language Arts Endorsement, and ESL Endorsement.

“Mrs. Smith is uniquely suited for this position in our school district as her background, vision, and deep commitment to student success will take an already thriving school to the next level,” said Superintendent Dr. Jeff McHugh.
