SERC is a district wide PTA committee that promotes awareness, education, support and acceptance of students with special needs in Glen Ellyn School District 41.  This parent run organization provides resources, networking opportunities, and professional speakers at meetings held throughout the school year.

December, 2nd Nutrition and the Special Needs Child
Ben Franklin LLC  7:00-9:00 P.M.                     
Speaker:  Nicole Tracy, RD, LDN
Nicole is a registered and licensed dietitian specializing in nutrition for infants, children and teens and works in both the clinical setting at Central Dupage Hospital and as a private consultant.  She has 11 years of clinical experience in medical nutrition therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings and has spent the last 9 of those years specializing in pediatric nutrition.

February, 3rd Puberty and Self Care Issues for the Special Needs Child

Speaker:  Mary Wrobel, MA CCC/SLP
Mary Wrobel is a speech and language pathologist with over 20 years of experience.  She is the author of "Taking Care of Myself," a book addressing health and safety needs for children with disabilities.
