Dear Lincoln Families, »09-10 Welcome Letter! »FAQ's
On behalf of the staff at Lincoln School, welcome to the 2009-2010 school year. We are off to a great start with new staff and wonderful new Lincoln Families. The children and staff have settled into the routine of school and are actively engaged in learning and discovery.
Lincoln School is a special place to be. We embrace the culture, diversity and richness that all of our students, parents and community members bring to Lincoln school. It is these characteristics that allow us to pull together and celebrate the unity that makes Lincoln such a wonderful place to learn, grow and achieve. I believe that you will find Abraham Lincoln School to be comprised of unique individuals that are pieces of the schools personality much like the bricks that create the foundation of the building. Without all of these pieces, Lincoln would not be the same school and we are so glad that you are here.
The Lincoln PTA and the school enjoy a strong, collaborative partnership. Our Lincoln School PTA provides countless programs and services that enrich and touch the lives of our children and families at Lincoln School each and every day. I encourage you and your family to participate in the many family events such as Math Night, Science Night, Family Dance and Fitness Night.
Abraham Lincoln Elementary School needs your help to maximize its potential. A partnership amongst parents, staff, children and the community is vitally important. Help to foster this partnership by attending school functions and monitoring your child’s educational progress. Open, honest and ongoing communication is key! Please let me know how I can best support you as we work together as true collaborative partners for our kids, if I don’t know, I can’t help!
Finally, we encourage all Lincoln families to join the PTA and volunteer to work alongside us in some capacity. Together we CAN make a difference.
Sincerely,
Shannon Walston-Cross
Principal
