Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of students enrolled in health class:

Please be advised that your child’s class will begin instruction on human growth and development in the coming weeks.  In this unit we will discuss puberty throughout adolescence and the physical, mental and social changes that take place during this time.

No student is required to take or participate in this class or in any class or course on human growth and development if his or her parent(s)/guardian(s) submit written objection.  There is no penalty for refusing to take or participate in such a course or program.

The instructional materials and course outline for these classes are available for you to preview.  Please contact the classroom teacher if you would like to examine the materials.

If you do not want your child to participate in these classes, please complete the attached “class attendance waiver” and return it within 5 school days.
