District 41 makes every effort to keep students, staff and buildings safe and secure, regularly reviewing emergency management plans and conducting drills for emergency situations. Here, Forest Glen students wait quietly after evacuating the building during a fire drill while their teacher holds up a green card indicating that all her students are accounted for. Other emergency drills conducted in the schools are tornado drills, bus drills and secure-in-place drills. Each school also has a plan that goes into place during periods of high winds or severe weather in which students housed in portables move inside the building for the duration with minimal interruption to instruction.
