Parents, come learn about the Parent Involvement Initiative on Sept. 22
Posted Sept. 16, 2008

Parents can make a difference to their child's success in school by getting involved. District 41's Parent Involvement Initiative builds on the many involvement opportunities that are already in existence and offers some additional ones. It also establishes a new volunteer role at our elementary schools--that of Parent Involvement Liaisons. Many parents are already very involved in the schools; but for some, it's not so easy--they may face barriers such as transportation or childcare problems, work conflicts, and language issues, or they may feel uncertain about how to become involved. No parent will ever be pressured to be involved, but the Parent Involvement Liaisons will be there to help parents (and other family members) of PreK through fifth-grade students who want to discover ways of becoming involved that make sense for their children, their families and their lives.

To learn more about the Parent Involvement Initiative and the volunteer role of Parent Involvement Liaison, please come to an informational forum:
Monday, Sept. 22
7:00-8:30 p.m.
Hadley Library

We hope that some of those who attend this meeting will step forward to be among our first Parent Involvement Liaisons.
