Parents, how much do you know about your child's online world? Online safety for kids is the focus of a parent education evening featuring Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and members of her High-Tech Crimes Bureau. The free event is open to the public and will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, 6:30 p.m. at Hadley Junior High School, 240 Hawthorne Blvd., Glen Ellyn. The information that will be provided is intended for adults and children cannot be accommodated. The Internet is a rich resource for information and recreation, but it poses dangers, especially to children. In this program, Madigan and her team will discuss information and tools parents can use to identify dangers, become informed and help keep their children safe online. Information about Internet safety is also available on the Illinois Attorney General's Web site, www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov
This program is offered jointly by the Glen Ellyn Education Association, PTA Council and the District 41 Board of Education and Administration. You do not need to be a District 41 parent to attend.
