Lincoln Construction update

>Post-construction map

The construction that was taking place around Lincoln School is officially complete!  Thanks again for your patience and flexibility as we worked through the process.  Starting Monday, October 30th, the traffic flow will return to normal.

When families or caregivers need to drive children to school, it is important that everyone is aware of the plan.  We are returning to the system that worked last year.   On the reverse you’ll find a rough schematic of Lincoln school that indicates the return to the old system.

  • Greenfield remains a one way west during school hours.
  • The north lane on Greenfield, closest to the school is the loading/unloading zone (behind the parked staff cars).
  • The left or south lane is the exiting line-students may not be dropped off from this lane!
  • It is imperative that all drivers remain in their vehicles at all times.  We appreciate your attention to this matter.
  • The bus drop off will be returned to Newton between Greenfield and the back driveway to Lincoln.  There will be posted no stopping, standing, or parking signs along Newton.  Take care to follow the posted signs as they will be enforced.  Also, remember to stop if the bus has the red flashing lights on and its stop arm out.

A continued thank you to the families who continue to walk to school when possible.  Thanks also for remembering to walk bikes, keep pets off school property and for crossing Greenfield at the appropriate locations.  The decreased car traffic and attention to pedestrian safety will continue to help with the traffic flow during arrival and departure times.

The Lincoln Student Safety Patrols have also started at their posts.  They are there to help keep students safe as they enter and exit Lincoln School grounds.

Lincoln School office staff (790-6475) is able to answer your questions about school traffic flow and parking.  Once again, thank you for your patience and cooperation while keeping our kids safe!
