The Boundary Advisory Committee is a group of parent volunteers that was charged by the administration to explore possible adjustments to the District 41 elementary school boundaries for the 2007-2008 school year to relieve crowding. The committee examined school attendance area boundaries only; the district perimeter is established by the state and was not under discussion.
The committee has reviewed historical, current and projected enrollment, facility use, program needs and community input. The committee believes that school attendance area boundaries should be as stable as possible to promote a sense of community in the school, confidence in the District and continuity in school planning and that adjustments should be considered only when other measures are insufficient to address the need.
