High Interest Day at Franklin
It’s a day students look forward to all year—High Interest Day. At Benjamin Franklin, students could select a number of classes from among 32 choices, all designed to expand their horizons, provide new perspectives and leave the children with a sense of possibility for their futures.
The day, organized by the PTA, offered three types of activities: high action, intense concentration, or the perennial favorite, eating. While students in the "Decadent Dessert" class were making old-fashioned ice cream by hand, those in "Radio Production" were using professional equipment to produce and star in a short radio show.
Outside, the DuPage County Sheriff’s department thrilled students with a display of SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) equipment.
Other activities included Mock Trial, Dog Training, Sports Agility Training, Magic, Self-Defense, Scrapbooking and many others. |
