Hadley Pride…and pizza
On a recent “Pizza Pride” recognition event, some 60 Hadley students were treated to a special pizza lunch in recognition of being exemplary members of the student body. As an extra touch, the 20 honorees in eighth grade were served by their teachers on tables with tablecloths and floral centerpieces. As the students received their Hadley Pride certificates, their teachers explained why each one was selected, for example, for being consistently kind and helpful to new students, being upbeat and enthusiastic in class, or participating in philanthropic activities, like the student who collected in quantity for the food pantry.

Principal Chris Dransoff said, “Thank you for the wonderful example you set for the other students. I hope you realize what an honor this is.” The Pizza Pride recognition was developed as part of the Hadley Building Leadership Team’s approach to improving respectful relationships within the school, and is planned to occur three times a year. Much of the funding for the recognition is provided by the Hadley PTA.
